Arkansas, Entergy File Appeals Rate Case

MARCH 30, 2004 - Posted at 7:42 a.m. CDT

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Arkansas regulators and Entergy Arkansas have filed papers with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission over a move that could increase Entergy rates in Arkansas.

The state and Entergy say the commission should reject a decision that would increase thousands of state electric bills.

Louisiana regulators asked that Entergy Arkansas customers pay more for electricity, and Louisiana customers pay less.  An administrative law judge said last month that Arkansas should bear a larger portion of the costs associated with generating power in the Entergy system.
