LAKE CITY, AR (KAIT) - Craighead County emergency responders continue to clean up the scene of accident in Lake City on Highway 18 Thursday night.
According to Lake City Fire Chief Chris Snyder, a woman was headed west when she turned into the path of diesel truck causing the collision. Chief Snyder says the truck dragged the woman's vehicle about 100 feet.
The woman and the truck driver were taken to the hospital by ambulance. They were the only two involved in the wreck. No word on the condition of the pair, and their names have not been released.
Right now two lanes of traffic are open on the highway, according to Justin Rolland of the Craighead County Sheriff's Department. However, crews are still unloading 8500 gallons of diesel fuel from the tanker.
Rolland says it could be around midnight before the highway is completely clear.
