Body Found at Southern Hills Mall Site

JONESBORO, AR - Jonesboro police detectives are investigating the discovery of a badly decomposed body that was found late this afternoon at the proposed Southern Hills Mall site off Highway 49 in southwest Jonesboro.

According to JPD detective Lynn Waterworth, construction workers found the body of what is believed to be a white or hispanic male.  Waterworth said the victim is approximately 5-feet-5 inches in height, and weighs approximately 135 pounds.  The body is clothed in blue jeans, a black leather jacket and a leather belt.

Waterworth said the JPD has no reports of any missing persons, but is appealing to the public for help.  Anyone with information as to the identity of the body is encouraged to contact the police department at 935-5562.

The body has been sent to the state crime lab for a full autospy.
