MOUNTAIN HOME, AR (KAIT) – A Region 8 man is behind bars after police say he touched three young girls inappropriately.

According to Mountain Home Police Chief Carry Manuel, police arrested Jimmy B. Johnston, 78, of Mountain Home on April 23rd, after a joint investigation between the Mountain Home Police Department and Arkansas State Police.

Manuel says the investigation began on April 1st after the police department received a complaint that Johnston inappropriately touched three female victims underneath and outside of their clothes at the Calvary Chapel Twin Lakes Church.

The victims are ages nine, nine, and 11.

Police say the victims and Johnston attend the same church, but Johnston is not a staff member at the church.

Johnston was charged with sexual assault in the second degree, a class B felony.

Police are holding Johnston in the Baxter County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.
