Car-Semi Accident Shuts Down Highway 63

A semi-truck collision and fuel leak shut down highway 63 south of  bono around 7:00 Thursday night.

A charred truck was all that was left after the collision with the white Chevy Lumina.Witnesses tell K8 news two young women in that car had to be cut from the vehicle. The driver of the semi was not hurt.

The accident did shut down the four-lane highway for several hours. Traffic was backed up for miles in both directions.

A hero emerged from the Thursday night accident.  Jennifer Porter, a worker from a Subway fifty yards from the accident witnessed the crash and heard the explosion. She put the subs on hold to run to the scene and help the injured motorists. At last word, there is no information on the condition of the victims in the car.

As of 10:45 Thursday night, the north-south traffic was alternating on a single lane.  The Arkansas State Police told K8 news the road should was to be completely re-opened by 11:30.
