Jonesboro's New Mall Needs Zoning Approval

<APRIL 13, 2004 -- posted at 10:38 p.m. CDT.>

JONESBORO-- Belz-Burrow still wants to bring region 8 the hottest fashions for the fall of 2005. However, they need to get through a little red tape first.

Belz-Burrow has already purchased 75 acres of land on the corners of Stadium and Highland for The Mall at Turtle Creek. However, 12.5 of those acres are not zoned for commercial use. "Most people thought it was zoned commercial both in our organization and in the city..it was something that just fell thought the cracks," says Dennis Zolper, an attorney for Belz-Burrow.

Tonight the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission voted to approve the re-zoning request. The proposal will need a final approval from the city council on Monday night
