Law. Co. drug take back yields 179.8 lbs. of medicine

LAWRENCE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – During the DEA's NationalPrescription Drug Take Back event, the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office heldtake back sites at three different locations.

Among the three take back sites and the sheriff department'spermanent dropbox, police say they were able to collect 179.8 pounds of old andunwanted medicines.

The three take back sites were located at the Sheriff's Officein Walnut Ridge, the substation at Imboden, and at the Strawberry CommunityCenter. The permanent dropbox can be used anytime at the Sheriff's Office.

The prescriptions were turned over to the Dea for properdisposal.
