APRIL 22, 2004 - Posted at 4:49 p.m. CDT

WYNNE, AR - 'Vietnam: The Moving Wall' will open Saturday in Wynne for a one-week stay in Cross County.

'The Moving Wall' is a half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC.  Made of metal, the wall contains the names of the 58,234 American servicemen and women killed during the Vietnam War, and is longer than a football field.  'The Moving Wall' is based in San Jose, California and tours the country each year.  The Wynne appearance will be the only one in Arkansas this year.

The exhibit is being sponsored by the Cross County Veterans Memorial Committee.  It will be located outdoors in front of Wynne High School on Highway 1.  The wall will be open 24 hours, and there is no admission fee.

Official grand opening ceremonies are set for Saturday morning at 10.
