Ark. lawyer dies after altercation at restaurant

CLINTON, Ark. (AP) - A Clinton attorney and businessman has died from a head injury he suffered during an argument with a man.

According to KATV (http://bit.ly/IQJaL5 ), a man walked into the Black Dog Grill restaurant Thursday night and was told by owner Brett Blakney to leave. The man allegedly hit Blakney, who struck his head on the concrete.

Blakney was responsive for a short time but eventually lost consciousness. A police department spokesperson says he died about 4 a.m. Friday.

The Van Buren County Sheriff's office and the Arkansas State Police are investigating Blakney's death. No arrests have been made and no charges have been filed.

Blakney's law office will reopen May 15, but the restaurant is closed until further notice.
