TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) - Police in Texarkana, Ark., say they're investigating the death of a 2-year-old boy whose welfare and living conditions had been the subject of Arkansas Department of Human Services investigations.
The DHS website shows that Christopher DeWayne Peoples died April 30 and that DHS had investigated the child's welfare several times since shortly after he was born in October 2010.
The website says each investigation found that various allegations of neglect of the boy were unsubstantiated - but that he was once found to have a skull fracture.
The boy's cause of death is listed as undetermined.
Police Sgt. Bobby Jordan told the Texarkana Gazette (http://bit.ly/J5zZ9k ) that the child's body was sent to the state medical examiner's office for an autopsy.
