The roller coaster ride of the economy is making it hard for people to make ends meet. But an old standby - the public library - is meeting many of their needs.
According to Cleveland Library director Felton Thomas, Jr., "Since the recession of 2008 our usage is up 17 percent and that's because a lot of people don't have the opportunity to buy books or go out and rent DVDs as they used to. They have to use us for those services in trying to keep spending down."
Movies and music are big hits with library users. The savings can add up if you aren't having to go out and purchase or pay to rent a movie.
All of this is a great way to save money and a good reason to keep that library card renewed!
