Blytheville ‘Mayfest’ starts this weekend

BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) – Main Street Blytheville ispreparing to show off the city during 'Mayfest' this weekend.

The annual event kicks off at 5 p.m. Friday night with freeburgers and hot dogs outside the historic Greyhound bus station.  A concert by Jason Green will take place from7 to 10 p.m.

On Saturday, vendors will be set up in downtown Blythevillefrom 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  According to MainStreet Blytheville President Matt Perkins, the city is expecting around 5,000people to drop by.  And throughout the day there will be a dog show and a carshow.

And for early risers, a fishing rodeo will take place atWalker Park from 7 to 9 a.m.
