Walnut Ridge --The African country of Uganda has been plagued by attacks from rebels for nearly two decades. One man from Region 8 has dedicated his life to helping innocent Ugandans halfway across the world.

Dr. Kyle Guimon is a Region 8 native who's faith in God lead him to do missionary work in Uganda. Last June his district was attacked by rebels who stripped their land and left hundreds of people displaced. Dr. Guimon is back in the U.S. and he brought two Ugandan government officials with him. They stopped by our nations capital to ask congress for aid. They said everything went well however; they want our government to put the money where their mouth is.

Dr. Guimon grew up in Gethsemane Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge. That's were we caught up with him. " This is my home church and we came back here tonight because Pastor Collins allowed us to come and preach and tell the people about the work we're doing," says Dr. Guimon. Pastor Derek Collins of Gethsemane was excited about the visit and hopes to visit Africa himself next summer. Dr. Guimon will return to Africa with his family at the end of May.
