Skeletal Remains Found in White County Identified as Missing Girl

MAY 6, 2004 - Posted at 4:01 p.m. CDT

SEARCY, AR - Skeletal remains found in a forested area of White County have been positively identified as that of a 15-year-old girl missing since 1995.

Robin Lynn Farnsworth's parents were told of the identification yesterday after the White County Sheriff's Department received a medical confirmation of lab results.

Farnsworth's remains were found by a hunter in Russell in 1997.  They were stored in the evidence room of the sheriff's department and were forgotten about until last year, when the department was moving evidence into a new room.

Investigators shipped the remains to the FBI after testing.

The sheriff's office has two suspects for what it's considering a homicide.  Those suspects are currently serving life sentences without parole for capital murder.
