JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – A program helping senior citizensbecome healthier ended Thursday with food and fun.
For the 7th year, people took part in the "SeniorChallenge Program" hosted by the East Arkansas Area Agency on Aging. Over a 13 week period seniors committed toexercising 30 minutes a day, in addition to eating more fruits and vegetables.
EAAAA officials say the program not only helps quality oflife, but also serves as form of socialization inside and outside of the seniorcenter.
To cap off the program, participants received certificatesand awards at a picnic. Other activitiestook place including a home run derby, relay races and dancing.
387 seniors participated in the challenge.
