Man arrested after three hour standoff police

STEELE, MO (KAIT) – Police have arrested a man they say robbed three women and then barricaded himself inside a home for over 3 hours.

According to the Steele Police Department, officers were called to the corner of Highway 164 and Main Street on a robbery call. When police arrived three women told officers they were robbed by a man, and that he stole their car.

During the investigation police determined the robbery took place during a drug deal gone bad.

Police found the suspect inside a vacant home on Polk Street, where he barricaded himself inside.

Steele Police called for the Kennett Police Strategic Response Team to assist in the standoff.

After three hours, officers stormed the home and took the suspect into custody without incident.

The suspect's name has yet to be released, pending formal charges.
