TRUMANN, AR - Emergency responders in Poinsett County are at the scene of a major accident near Trumann at this hour.

A 911 dispatcher in Poinsett County told K8 News that she sent every available first responder to the site of the accident after getting the call at approximately 2:45 p.m.

At least three school buses are involved in the accident, as well as four other vehicles.

A Poinsett County deputy told a K8 News crew at the scene that no children or students were on any of the buses at the time of the accident.  Approximately five to six people were injured, with two believed to be seriously hurt.  Law enforcement authorities have confirmed at least one fatality.  The deputy said it is believed that the accident was caused by a dust storm that suddenly blew up and severely hampered visibility.
