JONESBORO, AR - Jonesboro Mayor Hubert Brodell and Craighead County Judge Dale Haas were among the many dignitaries on hand this afternoon as KAIT managers and staffers unveiled the new K8 newsroom with a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony.
KAIT General Manager and Vice President Clyde Anderson and News Director Randy Parrott welcomed Brodell and Haas along with several other guests, including Bono Mayor L.M. Duncan, contractor Bo Daniels, Jonesboro Fire Chief Butch Herring and several staffers and volunteers with the Greater Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce.
The new and improved newsroom gives the K8 News team much-needed additional space, as well as five all-inclusive edit bays, an audio booth, sports office, tape archive library and new restrooms. The facility also includes covered parking bays for the fleet of news vehicles and live trucks.
The public will get a first-hand look at the new facilities Thursday evening, when KAIT hosts the Chamber of Commerce's monthly "Business After Hours" reception in the newsroom.
