JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – Andrew Haukereid, Jr., the father who’s been missing from a train bound for Chicago since May 19, turned 80 Saturday. He was supposed to be celebrating the milestone with his family, but never made it to his birthday party.

Arkansas State Police are still looking for Haukereid and have issued a Silver Alert at the request of Amtrak Railroad Police. The Silver Alert states Haukereid was last known to be at the Amtrak station in Little Rock, last seen at 11:00pm.

Haukereid was supposed to take the Texas Eagle train for a 30-hour ride from San Antonio, Texas, to his 80th birthday party in Chicago. Amtrak police say his bags made it to Chicago. Andrew did not.

Haukereid's sons, Greg and Scott Haukereid, have been traveling to stations from St. Louis to Little Rock in search of their father.  Saturday and Sunday the men made stops in Walnut Ridge to hang flyers in case their father got off there.

Andrew, who also goes by Junior, was last seen wearing black dress pants, black dress shoes, a red shirt and a blue jacket. Andrew has curly gray hair and is tan and thin. He was wearing glasses and may have been disoriented. He does NOT suffer from dementia.

If you've seen Andrew or have any information on his whereabouts, contact your local police or Amtrak Railroad Police at (800) 331-0008.
