Missing Texas father turns 80, Silver Alert still active

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – Andrew Haukereid, Jr., the father who’s been missing froma train bound for Chicago since May 19, turned 80 Saturday. He was supposed tobe celebrating the milestone with his family, but never made it to his birthdayparty.

Arkansas State Police are still looking for Haukereid and haveissued a Silver Alert at the request of Amtrak Railroad Police. The SilverAlert states Haukereid was last known to be at the Amtrak station in LittleRock, last seen at 11:00pm.

Haukereid was supposed to take the Texas Eagle train for a 30-hourride from San Antonio, Texas, to his 80th birthday party in Chicago. Amtrakpolice say his bags made it to Chicago. Andrew did not.

Haukereid's sons, Greg and Scott Haukereid, have been traveling tostations from St. Louis to Little Rock in search of their father.  Saturday and Sunday the men made stops in WalnutRidge to hang flyers in case their father got off there.

Andrew, who also goes byJunior, was last seen wearing black dress pants, black dress shoes, a red shirtand a blue jacket. Andrew has curly gray hair and is tan and thin. He waswearing glasses and may have been disoriented. He does NOT suffer fromdementia.
