Ark trooper files ethics complaint against himself

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - An Arkansas state trooper who coordinated security for former University of Arkansas football coach Bobby Petrino has initiated a complaint against himself with the Arkansas Ethics Commission regarding gifts he accepted from the school's football program.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette ( reports the $3,111 in gifts Capt. Lance King accepted were revealed after Arkansas State Police examined King's decision to drive Petrino to the hospital after an April 1 motorcycle wreck.
State Police spokesman Bill Sadler told the newspaper that until the matter is resolved, the agency believes it shouldn't comment.
State police determined that King didn't violate state law or department policy in the actions he took following the accident or by accepting the gifts.
King hasn't responded to messages seeking comment. A phone listing for him couldn't be found.
