PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) – The Arkansas Methodist Medical Center (AMMC) prepared moms for life with their babies Saturday.
The hospital held one of its monthly childbirth education classes, which ran from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The class is free for any expectant mothers planning to deliver at AMMC, but people with different birth plans can pay $50 to attend.
Instructor Tritia McGrew says the class covers a broad range of topics.
"We cover what to expect during labor, pain management during labor, breathing techniques, pushing techniques," McGrew said, "and then we also cover the early postpartum period as well as baby care, even CPR."
The hospital will next host a breastfeeding class on Saturday, June 9, from 9 a.m. to noon.
