HARRISBURG, AR (KAIT) – The community of Harrisburg welcomed people into its downtown area Saturday for the 15th annual Festival on the Ridge.
More than 60 vendors surrounded the old Poinsett County Courthouse, and they gave people of all ages a chance to shop, eat or have a little fun.
The event kicked off early Saturday morning with a 5K run, which attracted almost 200 racers.
Mark Weston, the festival president, says his favorite part is just watching the crowds grow larger.
"I just like the people," Weston said. "There's a lot of hard work involved in this, and, just to see it come to fruition and everybody have fun and have a good day, it's just remarkable."
The one-day festival featured various performers throughout the day. Sonny Burgess and the Pacers served as headliners, while a fireworks display closed out the event.
