TYRONZA, AR (KAIT) – The Tyronza City Hall and the Southern Tenant farmers Museum were evacuated for about 30 minutes due to an air quality scare.
A company was fumigating a grain bin in downtown Tyronza but didn't seal off the area. Bearden says, soon after they left a strong smell started making its way through the downtown area. As a precaution emergency personnel evacuated city hall and the museum.
There was no report of any illnesses.
The West Memphis Hazmat team took air quality samples and determined there was no danger to any residents.
Mayor Marion Bearden told Region 8 News the company did not notify the OEM's office of the spraying.
Region 8 News will have more updates as soon as they become available.
