JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - One Region 8 Fire Department received over $25,000 in life saving equipment.
The Brookland Fire Protection District received a number of different hydraulic rescue tools. Among the equipment they received spreaders, cutters, ram and air bags. Brookland Fire Protection District member Steve Beck says this equipment will help the department respond to more emergencies. "It'll help us respond to larger car wreck and allow quicker extrication times."
The new equipment is something Brookland Mayor Kenneth Jones is much needed. "Now that they can get on site and start working immediately instead of trying to wait for Jonesboro help or a department's help to come in."
The equipment was made possible through a loan from Liberty Bank.
