JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - After receiving public input on the viability of expanding Parker Road to the Washington Avenue/Highway 63 interchange, the expansion may soon happen.
In June, the city looked to the public to take an online survey on whether they felt this was a road project the city should complete.
The city hopes that by doing this, they will be able to alleviate traffic from Southwest Drive.
The Federal Highway Administration has approved the use of specifically earmarked funds for this project.
The Jonesboro Public Works Committee unanimously voted to forward the issue onto the next full city council meeting.
Region 8 News will track updates on the possible extension.
