Ark. Lottery Commission approves contract revision

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas Lottery Commission has approved a contract revision with its instant ticket vendor.

The revision approved Monday will save the commission about $430,000 per year.

The vendor, Scientific Games, will also pay $2 million to the commission as a goodwill gesture.

Almost 90 percent of Arkansas lottery sales are from instant tickets. Lottery director Bishop Woosley says the Arkansas contract is important to Scientific Games and the company was willing to negotiate concessions.

The contract came into question because of the way the lottery's former director arrived at its terms.
