TRUMANN, AR (KAIT) – Investigators with the Trumann Police Department have been searching for three people who are suspected of stealing a car and car stereo from two local businesses.

According to CID Lt. Lenny Becker, two men and one woman stole a 2007 Mustang GT from Wood Ford Auto Sales sometime Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Becker said the incident happened the day after the three expressed interest in buying the vehicle.

According to an incident report, Becker said the three asked a salesman to look at the car and got distracted by two suspects. At that time, the third suspect is believed to have swapped the keys to the car.

The report reveals the suspects told the salesman to hold the vehicle for them, and they'd be back to get the car. The three left with the salesman unknowingly holding a set of keys to another vehicle. The Mustang GT was discovered missing the next day.

Becker said the vehicle was discovered in an apartment complex parking lot in Jonesboro Wednesday morning.

If you know the identity of any of these three suspects, you are urged to contact detectives at the Trumann Police Department, (870) 483-6423. The three were last seen driving a maroon Nissan Sentra with Cavanaugh Hyundai emblems on it.

Becker said the three are also believed to have stole a car stereo from the Trumann Walmart Monday night after Car-Mart in Trumann reported a woman switched out the keys to a Lincoln LS.

After the switch, police said, an employee noticed it and disarmed the car before employees left that night.
