Arkabutla Lake Annual Deer Hunt

Arkabutla Lake, Mississippi  (USACE) - Arkabutla Lake will hold the 12th annual special management archery deer hunt in October of 2012. The specific two days secessions will be 12-13 October, 14-15 October, 26-27 October, and 28-29 October.

Applications will be available Wednesday, 25 July 2012 at the Arkabutla Lake Field Office. The deadline for receiving applications is 3:30 p.m., 29 August 2012. A total of 88 hunters will be chosen from a publicly held drawing. The drawing will be Wednesday 5 September 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at the Arkabutla Lake Field Office. Applicants must be a legal resident of the State of Mississippi and at least 16 years of age.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is the nation's largest federal provider of outdoor recreation, managing more than 400 lake and river projects in 43 states and hosting more than 370 million visits per year. Arkabutla Lake in Northwest Mississippi consists of approximately 52,549 acres with 11, 250 acres in water during the normal summer pool levels.
