LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas Treasurer Martha Shoffner has been arrested for extortion by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and is being held in Pulaski County Jail.
Authorities say they have found a child's body believed to be that of an 18-month-old girl as they continue to investigate a series of Kansas farm deaths.
A body recovered amid an intensive search is believed to be that of a missing 18-month-old girl whose mother was found dead along with two men on a Kansas farm days ago, authorities said Sunday.

A Blytheville police officer was involved in a shooting early Saturday morning, according to Police Chief Ross Thompson, where at least one person has died.
FORREST CITY, AR (KAIT) – Police served a man an arrest warrant while he sat in jail.
Ronald Scott, 21, of Forrest City was officially served with a residential burglary warrant of arrest while sitting in the Saint Francis County Jail.
Forrest City police originally arrested Scott on June 25 at 5:20 a.m. for allegedly attempting to break into a residence on North Gorman. During that burglary, Scott stole a computer system.
Police served Scott with the second warrant after a residential burglary complaint in the 1600 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Drive. The victim reported that between June 24 and June 25, someone broke into their house and stole a Dell computer system and an Emerson microwave.
Scott is charged with residential burglary. His bond was set at $70,000.00 in addition to the bond set on the previous charges.
Scott is currently on parole with the Department of Community Punishment.
