Deputies searching for two suspects in connection with shooting

WHITE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Police are searching for two suspects in connection to a shooting.

According to Corporal Steve Hernandez with the White County Sheriff's Department, deputies responded to a report of a shooting around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.

When deputies arrived, they learned that victim Perry Neal, 25, was transported to the White County Medical Center for a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

Witnesses told deputies that Neal was in the back room of a residence when a young white female in her late teens, early twenties, who is known as "13" came in and told Neal that someone was there to talk to him. When Neal entered the front room of the residence, he was approached by a young black male, described as in his late teens, early twenties. There was a brief scuffle between the two before the unknown suspect shot Neal.

Both the suspect and the female known as "13" fled the scene in a white Chevrolet Monte Carlo with Arkansas license plate number 721-REJ.

According to the sheriff's department, Neal is expected to make a full recovery.
