Strange Figures in One Oak Grove Yard

May 24, 2004--Posted at 6:00 p.m. CDT

OAK GROVE--On a quiet country road.....it just appeared.

Circular figures have appeared in the grass and legend has it these could bring good luck and fortune to those who find them. The story is little fairies will dance the night away when no one is watching, and on the next day the rings appear.......however, there is another side to this story.

If you step inside the circle, you could be tempting fate, you see, one urban legend says that once you step inside the circle you may never step back out."If you are fool hearted enough to step inside the circle you may be struck blind, or even disappear to work for the fairies underground," said by homeowner Lesea Wilson.

Finally, there may be one other possibility according to Greene County Extension Agent Mark Brawner. "Due to the rotting material under the grass, rainfall, and high humidity, the rings could appear,"said Brawner.

So it could be fairies enjoying the hot Arkansas nights, dancing the night away......or maybe it's just Mother Nature at work...... You be the judge.
