POCAHONTAS, AR (KAIT) – The Pocahontas annual fireworks display has been cancelled.
Pocahontas Fire Chief Scott Baltz previously said the fireworks display for the city would take place, and it was moved to the sports complex.
The display was set to fire off at 9pm.
Baltz told Region 8 News earlier this week, the complex allowed them to set off the fireworks in a safer environment. He said the fire department would also have extra equipment on had to make sure nothing gets out of hand.
Officials say because of the burn ban, fireworks are prohibited county wide.
