WEST PLAINS, MO - First-degree murder charges have been filed in southern Missouri against a 52-year-old woman suspected of killing her two grandchildren and her son-in-law.

The Highway Patrol says Pamela Burns, of Pomona, was charged yesterday after questioning by detectives at the West Plains Police Department.

The bodies of 28-year-old Keith Bennett, his six-year-old daughter Klover Lawrence and four-year-old son Keith Bennett II were found Monday afternoon in their home in West Plains.

Patrol Sergeant Marty Elmore says authorities recovered a handgun believed to have been used in the shootings.

A police statement says Bennett's wife, Sandra, found his body and called authorities.  Police who arrived and searched the house found the children's bodies.
