Two in accident sent to hospital, one sent to county jail

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – Two of the victims in a Wednesday morning accident were rushed to the hospital and another sent to jail.

Jonesboro Police said one victim in a three-car crash on Highland Drive and Nestle Way was taken to The Med in Memphis, the second was taken to St. Bernards, and the third was arrested for outstanding warrants after fleeing the scene of the accident.

Officers said the person arrested after fleeing the scene was found near the Nestle plant and taken to the Craighead County Jail.

Investigators on scene said one of the cars had stopped on the inside lane, possibly with mechanical problems, when the second car hit it. They went on to say that the third car came later and piled into the previous two.

E911 Director Jeff Presley said three wreckers and two ambulances were dispatched to clear the accident.

The roadway is now clear.
