PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) –  A demonstration for the blind and visually impaired took place at the Senior Bees Center in Paragould. Representatives from World Services and Nanopac hosted the event on Tuesday.

Dr. Janet Ford with World Services says they hold these presentations to make people aware of what tools are out there and available to them.  "Most people are not aware of all the products available to assist those who have a vision loss because if you don't need it, you haven't researched that issue."

Margaret Johnson has had vision problems since she was a child and says tools like these make a world of a difference in the overall quality of life.  "It's good for people to know what's available and, so they can keep their lives independent and delay the need for a nursing home or in home care or something like that."

The event lasted from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
