Tornadic Activity in Poinsett County Sunday Evening

MARKED TREE - Severe weather has been a factor throughout much of Region 8 since this afternoon, but it now appears that the most severe threat may be in Poinsett County.

K8 News has at least two unconfirmed reports of a tornado on the ground in the Marked Tree area as of this posting.  Tornado warning sirens were sounded in Marked Tree, Lepanto and Trumann at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Poinsett County was placed under tornado warnings on two separate occasions.

Meanwhile, the K8 newsroom has been flooded with dozens of calls from throughout Region 8 reporting downed trees and power lines.
