JONESBORO--A beautiful day in Jonesboro welcomed folks from all over Region 8 to pay their respects to those who served and are still serving our country.
Danny Honnoll remembers friends and family who served in the military.
"Today is the day that has been set aside to fly our flags and say words about the people who have given their lives for our freedom,"said Honnoll.
This ceremony gathered family and friends as they pay tribute to loved ones.
Jay Chism attended the ceremony as well.
"We should especially thank those who paid the supreme price and gave their life in the defense of our country,"said Chism.
Folks in Region 8 came out today not only to remember the soldiers from the past, but also to remember the soldiers still fighting overseas.
Ruby McDaniel, of Williford, said, "they served and they gave their time and they risked their lives for our country.
Although the United States has lost over 800 soldiers in the current fight for freedom overseas, it's important the soldiers know Americans at home realize they are doing their duty to bring freedom to others.
And a final word to those soldiers......
