MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) – Memphis police say the TBI put out a broadcast that a man on the run from a murder in West Memphis was spotted in West Memphis heading toward Memphis. People in West Memphis just want Eddie Tribble to turn himself in.
Eddie Tribble, on the run since May, is a suspect in a murder in May in West Memphis. Investigators say someone spotted him on Broadway in West Memphis driving eastbound in a tan Taurus possibly with a young child in the car.
Law enforcement is looking for Tribble. West Memphis police Chief Donald Oakes said his department never stopped in its quest to capture Tribble.
Tribble is wanted for the shooting death of a man outside a West Memphis bar May 6th. West Memphis police got a tip he was hiding in his mother's apartment.
Police used gas grenades to blast the door open, but Tribble was not inside. Residents in May said the shooting was part of a feud between the west and east sides of West Memphis that had been going on for decades.
No one answered the door at the apartment where Tribble's mother now lives.
Most people around here didn't want to talk about the possibility Tribble is back in town.
"I don't want to get involved in that," neighbor Josie Williams said.
Josie Williams lives down the street from Tribble's mother.
"My heart goes out to the family. You know goes out. I just pray he got no respect. He just scared. He just running," she said.
"They just need to catch him. They need to know to go on and get him locked up," neighbor B.J. Alls said.
According to the TBI broadcast, Eddie Tribble was spotted wearing a white t-shirt and jeans in a tan Taurus with Arkansas Tag number 146RZB. Again, he was spotted Thursday morning.
