FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (ArkansasRazorbacks.com) – Austin Cook of the University of Arkansas men's golf team shot one-over par, 73, on Saturday, the final day of the 106th Southern Amateur at Chenal Country Club in Little Rock, Ark., to tie for 15th in prestigious summer tournament.

Cook and teammate Kolton Crawford made the cut at the event with the senior-to-be shooting a combined one-over par over the four-day event.  Crawford fired a six-over-par score on Saturday to finish the tournament at 11 over and tied for 64th.

On Friday, Cook had to deal with three double bogeys and fought his way to a score of two-over par, but Saturday's round was without big numbers and included an eagle on the par four, 11th.  Opening with par, Cook found himself one-over after two when he bogeyed the second hole.  He would remain one over until a second bogey on No. 7 and made the turn at two-over for the round.  Cook started to heat up when he sank a birdie putt on the par five, 10th, then holed out from 166 yards with a seven iron to card his eagle and move to one-under par.  Cook closed the round with three bogeys and a birdie to shoot 73, one-over par.

Beginning his day on No. 10, Crawford began his final round with a birdie.  He would stay at one-under for the round through his seventh hole of the day, No. 16, but back-to-back double bogeys derailed his chance at a sub-par round.  Crawford would go on to hit three bogeys over his first four holes on the back nine, then rebounded to knock in back-to-back birdies on No. 5 and No. 6.  Another double bogey on No. 7 and two pars closed the tournament for Crawford.

Next up for members of the Razorbacks is the Western Amateur, scheduled for competition between July 30 and August 4.  Former Razorback Ethan Tracy, a 2012 all-American during the collegiate season, won the event a year ago in thrilling fashion.
