Crews search western Arkansas lake for missing teen

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - Authorities will resume their search for a 19-year-old Malvern athlete who disappeared while swimming in Lake Catherine.

The Garland County Sheriff's Office says James King went missing after he tried to swim across the lake on Monday.

King's cousin, Randy Tonie, told KATV ( that King was racing with other to see who could swim to the other side of the lake, but King developed a cramp and tried to swim back.

A current pulled him under and his friends were unable to reach him in time.

The sheriff's office says certified divers equipped with side scan sonars have been looking for King. The search was suspended Tuesday because of darkness and obstacles in the lake.
