LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - An Aug. 20 hearing has been scheduled in the case of man accused of driving into an accident scene, killing a firefighter and injuring two others.
Bryce Allen was in court Monday to determine if his mental evaluation is complete. According to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (http://bit.ly/QO7MFH), the report wasn't finished and the new court date was set.
Allen is charged with first-degree murder in the March death of Jacksonville Fire Department Capt. Donald Jones. Authorities allege Allen drove into an accident scene on Arkansas Highway 161 in Jacksonville and hit two firefighters and a police officer.
Allen's attorney tried to quiet him down after he talked loudly and incoherently at times during Monday's proceeding.
The telephone at the Pulaski County public defender's office rang unanswered Monday evening.
