Two Baxter County drug arrests

MOUNTAIN HOME, AR (KAIT)- Two arrests were made Friday in Mountain Home on meth charges.

Cherie Kelley and Kenneth H. Powell were taken in to custody. When officers with the Sheriff's Office, Mountain Home PD, and Arkansas Department of Community Corrections arrived to the residence on Sandstone Circle, Kelley was seen trying to hide a syringe in the kitchen sink.

According to John Montgomery, Baxter County Sheriff, officers conducted a search and found about 4.5 grams of suspected meth. They also found scales, plastic baggies, and a glass pipe.

Both Kelley and Powell are facing multiple felony and misdemeanor drug charges. Powell was releases from the Mountain Home Detention Center when he posted $15,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Circuit Court on August 16.

Kelley has a bond of $5,000, but she remains in custody on holds for Probation Violation charges as well.
