JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – The Jonesboro Public School System's
officials were out in Jonesboro neighborhoods Thursday night.
Superintendent Dr. Kim Wilbanks along with Jonesboro school
principals and other JPS personnel went door to door in north Jonesboro.
They were out in the neighborhoods informing parents and
children about upcoming open houses.
MicroSociety Magnet School Principal Misty Doyle said it was
important that they got out into the community.
"We felt like sometimes
that some of our parents may not have access to get to the schools. So we
thought we would just bring our employees, administrators, teachers out to the
houses and introduce ourselves," said Doyle.
Doyle said this is the
first year that the school system has held the greeting event. They hope to
make this an annual event.
