Drug raid in Forrest City yields three arrests

FORREST CITY, AR (KAIT)- Forrest City Police Department officers performed a drug raid early Wednesday morning in an apartment complex on Rice Street.

Inside the apartment, police found a loaded handgun and several baggies of marijuana.

Officers arrested 26-year-old Dee Lashay Steward, 25-year-old Anthony Graham, both of Forrest City, as well as 22-year-old Cortez Allen of Memphis.

They have each been charged with Possession of Controlled Substance with Purpose to Deliver (marijuana), Possession of Controlled Substance in Proximity to Certain Facilities, Possession of Counterfeit Controlled Substance (Crack Cocaine), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Allen was additionally charged with Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons and Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms.

Their arraignment is scheduled for August 8 at the St. Francis County District Court.

Forrest City Police Chief E. P. Reynolds says, "I would like to commend Officer Harper and the rest of the team that executed this search warrant. Thanks to their efforts, the Forrest City Police Dept. was able to remove more dangerous drugs, a gun, and one more drug dealer from our streets. This is another positive step toward keeping Forrest City safe for our families and children."

Forrest City Crime Stoppers pays rewards of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of criminals.
