HEBER SPRINGS, AR (KAIT) – A man listed in the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) is now in custody after officers from the Cleburne County Sheriff's Office and Heber Springs Police Department received a tip on his whereabouts.

According to the Cleburne County Sheriff's Office, 22-year-old Colton Brackenridge, of Heber Springs, was arrested on outstanding felony warrants after a foot chase through a residential area Thursday night.

Officers said they received a tip that Brackenridge was at the West Hills Apartments, and while checking out the residential area, they spotted Brackenridge leaving in a vehicle.

As they attempted to stop him on 7th and Main, police said Brackenridge jumped out of his vehicle and fled on foot. But, officers were able to find him hiding under a bush a short while later and took him into custody.

Brackenridge has been listed in NCIC as both a fugitive and a missing person since March 2012. Both listings came after his felony warrants were issued, and his family was unable to find him.

Investigators are currently trying to determine whether hindering apprehension charges need to be filed against anyone who assisted Brackenridge in avoiding an arrest.
