HEBER SPRINGS, AR (KAIT) – A manlisted in the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) is now in custody after officersfrom the Cleburne County Sheriff's Office and Heber Springs Police Departmentreceived a tip on his whereabouts.
According to the Cleburne County Sheriff'sOffice, 22-year-old Colton Brackenridge, of Heber Springs, was arrested onoutstanding felony warrants after a foot chase through a residential areaThursday night.
Officers said they received a tip thatBrackenridge was at the West Hills Apartments, and while checking out the residentialarea, they spotted Brackenridge leaving in a vehicle.
As they attempted to stop him on 7thand Main, police said Brackenridge jumped out of his vehicle and fled on foot.But, officers were able to find him hiding under a bush a short while later andtook him into custody.
Brackenridge has been listed in NCICas both a fugitive and a missing person since March 2012. Both listings cameafter his felony warrants were issued, and his family was unable to find him.
Investigators are currently trying todetermine whether hindering apprehension charges need to be filed againstanyone who assisted Brackenridge in avoiding an arrest.
