Ark. officer kills person suspected of burglaries

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Authorities say a Little Rock police officer has fatally shot a juvenile who may have been breaking into vehicles at an apartment complex.

It is the second officer-involved shooting in Little Rock in recent days.

Sgt. Cassandra Davis said in a news release that officers received a call about a suspicious person possibly breaking into cars about 5:15 a.m. Sunday. Officer Josh Hastings saw two people breaking into a car and then get into another car.

Hastings fired at the latter car vehicle as it came toward him, hitting the juvenile driver. Two other juveniles were taken into custody.

Officials didn't release the name of the person who died. Hastings is on routine administrative leave.
Authorities say Donald O'Fallon died Friday after officers shot him while investigating an assault report.
