Bridge inspection closing some lanes of I-40 Mississippi River bridge

WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. (AP) - Highway officials say crews will perform a routine inspection of the Interstate 40 bridge over the Mississippi River between West Memphis and Memphis this week.

Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department officials say the inspection will require the westbound, outside lanes to be closed Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting.

Motorists have been asked to exercise caution when approaching and traveling through this and all highway work zones.
