Senath PD gets bath salts testing kit

SENATH, AR (KAIT)-  The Senath City Council has approved the purchase of a bath salts test kit for the Senath Police Department.

Senath Police Chief Omar Karnes says the kit is a preliminary test that the Department can use before sending substances believed to be bath salts to a lab for further testing.

Chief Karnes says, "I have suspect stuff moving in the area. I've had one case that I'm pretty sure [was bath salts]. We just didn't have the kit at the time."

Chief Karnes also says being able to test the substances at the police department will decrease the time it takes to obtain an arrest warrant.
